Jogging, Day 1: Ok, so yesterday I went jogging at about 6:30 in the morning (as usual). It's dark this time of year at 6:30. So I get to the other end of the sidewalk I walk on and run into a guy (named Otis) and mentioned to him that joggin ON THE SIDEWALK was kind of bad for the knees and such...especially on the downhill parts. I went on to point out that the soccer fields we were in front of would be a better choice, except for the problem of wet grass (morning dew) and grass clippings...OR, he could try the new walking trails that follow the sewer lines.
Since it was early and still dark, I told him I'd even accompany him. So...off we go. He's a VERY slow jogger. At that pace you basically spend most of your energy throwing yourself into the air. Long story short (too late) we jogged about 3 miles and walked back. VERY tiring.
Jogging, Day 2: So today...silly me...I wanted to get to the END of that trail. Besides that, I get it in my head that I would have a MUCH easier time if I were to jog at my normal, faster and more importantly more efficient pace. I was correct. Yesterday I was getting close to having cramps in my legs by the time I got to the point we turned around. Today I breezed past that place (granted, breathing a lot harder) but I STILL didn't get to the end. Instead I got to a parks and recreation sign that points out the extent of that section of trails. Call me lazy, but I had absolutely no desire to jog (or even walk) another 3 miles before turning around and walking all the way back. Of course, it's at this point that I remember I've got to get my wife up...so I jog about half way back too. Total trip (walking/jogging) about 10 miles (16km). BTW, click here for a picture of ROUGHLY the route the path takes
tired...so tired...so very, very tired...
Cascading Style Sheets :I've been trying to learn a little about...style sheets. I'm still having to fiddle with the uses of the various elements of style sheets. Some parts need to be used one way, some parts need to be used in another. It's hard (at this time) for me to remember which ones need to be used in what way. If you'd like to see a little about what style sheets can do, you should probably visit CSS Zen Garden. Basically you can leave the HTML the same (granted, with special bits added) and change the whole layout of the page by changing the CSS. give it a look.
Different browsers *sigh*: And I've just noticed that all of the blog entries aren't centered or shaded under mozilla (but they are under Opera/IE). Go figure *shrug*. And if it bothers you...you'd better learn to deal with it. I'm not going to bother fixing it for a while.
This is poit...signing off.
