Thanks to the glut of spam (and having to filter it out) I missed the reregistration announcements for Fakesites.com. I was pretty freaked out when it was redirected to the registrar's page with an announcement "Coming soon". I thought for sure that some fucking bastard had snapped it up simply to have another redirect for a porn site or one of those god damned, pure advertising "search engines". I've intentionally let a domain go before...that's EXACTLY what happens. Mostly this sort of thing happens because the post a LIST OF EXPIRED DOMAINS! I really think that goes against the spirit of the whole process. Businesses can have programs automatically snap up potentially useful domains without even the slightest bit of creative thinking.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaanyway, it's fixed now and Fakesites.com is alive and redirected again :) Now I just need to get back to work on it. I've not been doing ANYTHING for the past few years. First because I was driving down to wilmington to visit my wife for a couple years...and NOW because we have no money at all because my wife's disabled and my employer's insurance is at INSANE levels (currently $450/month just to cover her...and as crazy as that is, it saves us money).
