Well, lots of stuff has happened that I probably should have mentioned. First of all, we had more snow back in february
No! We had a HELL OF LOT MORE SNOW!
The money situation is improved. Because we paid an insane amount of medical bills last year (the main reason I've had no money for any sorts of projects)...I a refund of ALL the taxes I paid last year. Got myself a nice heatsink and an Athlon 2500+ (barton)...and them my newest motherboard (an nForce2 board) promptly died. Luckily the hamfest was the following weekend so I just picked up another motherboard. The good news is that the old board is apparently still under warranty...YAY In other motherboard related news...I was digging thru my parts box looking for a video card and ran into a board that died over a year ago. Now, I've tested that board many more times than any normal (sane?) person would have. It's been dead for well over a year and the last time I checked was 6 months ago. SURPRISE! it's now decided to work. WTF???? It's now been working for a couple days. Solved my video card problem because it's got onboard graphics (didn't need speedy graphics or a speedy system, just wanted one that could display 32bit color at 1024x768 and above) ...on my wife's disability. Ooooooooooooook, she had her hearing in the middle of february and just a couple days ago she finally got the notification of the judge's favorable ruling. According to the letter, she should get an explanation of benefits within 60 days. Of course, I really wonder how the hell a disabled person who (unlike my wife) has no spouse or family to support them...can avoid starvation long enough to get on disability. I mean...it's been 27 months for my wife already and it APPEARS that it's going to take another 2 (POSSIBLY 3) to actually see any money. 30 months!!! Oh well, I think that's it for now
