Well, "inspiration" hit me in the form of a mess on a table. There was heatshrink tubing, an electric motor and a threaded rod. Suddenly it occurs to me that the heatshrink tubing would probably do a reasonable job at joining the motor to the rod (even if they're different sizes). Anyway, I'll probably do a couple of quickie tests and forget about it until "I need it" (translation...never)
