Work continues on the hardboard...
I've currently got the two side pannels sitting on the floor with some relatively heavy stuff stitting on them until the glue cures. Used polyurethane glue.

As we can see here, Santa approves of my choice of adhesive. Just a little side note to anyone using polyurethane glues. I read there are sometimes problems with long term storage...basically the moisture in the air polymerizes the whole bottle. To help prevent this I cover the top with a dorky looking foil cap. Santa sometimes wears a a dorky looking foil cap too...but he says it's so the aliens can't read his mind. I think he's been hitting the glue a little too hard

Originally I had planned on using contact cement. It would have cut down on the curing time but today it's just too darned cold out of doors for it to work...

...and "in of doors", I just don't like the idea of using the stuff
