Chimney: In order to more efficiently get rid of the heat in my case, I cut up some 2liter bottles (actually, it was put together for a water rocket, but the bottom line is, it's made from bottles) and covered the 3 outgoing fans to direct the air up and away from the CPU. That way there's little to no chance of hot air from the inside of the case being sucked back in.
Instability beyond 3.3ghz: it's still a problem. I've tried putting a heatsink on the voltage regulators, dropping the speed of the memory...even using a second power supply...no dice. Same problem as before, though...just before the thing resets, the vcore goes low at the higher speed. I guess the regulators just can't take it. Update! Ok it seems the problem was just a misunderstanding. I had THOUGHT that when set to auto, the board was selecting 1.2volts for the vcore and that the reason the MANUAL settings started at 1.28 is because let's face it, people almost always go for higher voltages. The reality was that the voltage levels (or at the very least...the readings) are skewed by .8, so when I thought I was setting it higher, I was actually setting it at the same vcore. Aaaaanyway, the bottom line is... 3.5ghz and stable!!!
